With support from Stop the Hate, Uplift the Human Spirit turned community vulnerability into intergenerational strength.
The organization launched the Hmong Youth Leadership Academy to help young people build leadership skills, life skills, self-pride and self-love through culturally grounded arts and crafts. Participation grew from 30 students in 2024 to 56 young people in 2025, while outreach at community gatherings such as the Stockton Hmong New Year helped more families learn where to turn for support.
The organization also established a Senior Care program rooted in the belief that protecting community means honoring elders. Seniors ages 60 and older received safety training on how to respond when threatened or faced with violence, while also gathering in a healing space shaped by Hmong food, music, traditional songs, art, massage and acupressure. A culturally responsive food pantry provided another layer of care for families facing immediate needs.
Together, these efforts built bridges between generations. Youth gained confidence in their identity and elders found spaces for safety, comfort and healing. The programs, curriculum and trust built through Stop the Hate now serve as a lasting foundation for a community where Hmong families can thrive safely and proudly.
