Through Stop the Hate, Little Manila Rising expanded its Healing Pilipinx Uplifting Self & Others initiative, known as Healing “PUSO,” to normalize conversations about mental health and increase access to holistic healing in South Stockton.
The organization strengthened cross-cultural partnerships and offered free healing circles, culturally grounded wellness sessions, healing arts and online support spaces in collaboration with BIPOC healers and practitioners.
The work reached more than 1,500 community members through direct programming, community events and social media outreach, while biannual Health & Healing Clinics served more than 2,000 people with holistic healing services, community health resources, food, haircuts, clothing and other essential supports.
Stop the Hate also enabled Little Manila Rising to launch free, culturally responsive therapy services in October 2024. BIPOC clinicians have since provided trauma-informed individual and group therapy to more than 100 community members who might not otherwise have access to care. In partnership with Empowering Marginalized Asian Communities, the organization also offered self-defense and de-escalation trainings for elders, youth and LGBTQIA+ community members.
