Youth and Community PopUps

Project Background

Established in January 2019, Youth and Community PopUps provide Sacramento youth and their families with fun community-building activities, led by community partners throughout the city’s historically under-resourced neighborhoods.

The initiative’s Economic Mobility Program launched in June 2019 to serve local youth with a culturally relevant training series to build workforce readiness skills and on-the-job experience through paid internships in support of PopUps. As part of a coordinated city-community violence prevention and economic development effort, events were scheduled for every Friday and Saturday through June 30, 2020.

Youth and CommunityPop Ups are funded by the City of Sacramento, managed by The Center at SierraHealth Foundation and operated by 23 community partner organizations.
